Mar-Cas Cabin is the perfect getaway with another couple or two. Of course, it can accommodate a family just as comfortably. Kids and adults alike will appreciate the two-tiered deck, the free Wi-Fi, the cable TV, and the proximity to numerous area attractions.
Mar-Cas Cabin is a true cabin in the clouds with amazing views of the forest below, close to the action but nestled in the quiet of all the mountains have to offer.
The decks will be the first things you notice about Mar-Cas Cabin. The upper deck looks out onto lush Ponderosa pines.
You can cook and dine on this deck as well. Barbecue burgers or fresh-caught fish on the gas grill, then enjoy at the outdoor dining table, with seating for all your guests. The fresh mountain breeze transforms even the simplest fare into a feast.
In winter, you’ll probably prefer to eat indoors. Mar-Cas Cabin dining area seats 8 people: 6 at the handsome table and 2 more at the adjacent breakfast bar. On the other side of the bar is the kitchen, equipped with a full complement of appliances, cookware, and tableware. All you have to supply is the food and a hearty appetite.
There’s more than enough space in the living room for everyone to hang out together. From the sofa and the chairs, you can gaze through the picture windows at the majestic mountains or watch a movie on the flat-screen TV. The kids can sprawl out with their games and toys. In winter the gas fireplace is sure to be a favorite gathering spot.
Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own TV and generous storage in addition to sumptuous sleeping, and each is decorated in the same simple elegance as the rest of Mar-Cas Cabin. The master suite includes a private bathroom with a combination shower/tub and twin sinks. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor has access to it's own full bathroom. The 3rd bedroom on the lower level has a bathroom as well. Not only does this lower level accommodate sleeping but it serves as a game room with a billiards table, laundry room and access to the lower private deck.
When you arrive at Mar-Cas Cabin you’ll find all the beds beautifully made up, plenty of clean towels in the bathrooms, and extra bedding ready and waiting, so you can leave your linens at home. In fact, because the house has its own washer and dryer, you can pack especially light.
The neighborhood in which the house is located is quiet and high up in the forest yet wonderfully convenient. Your guests will enjoy the short walk to the Upper Cedar Creek Trail-head. You can drive to the Links at Sierra Blanca in 5 minutes and Alto Lake and Recreation Area—home to a trout-stocked lake—in less than 10 minutes. Just beyond the lake is Ruidoso Winter Park, where you can snow tube in winter and soar on a zip line year-round. In 15 minutes you can drive to Grindstone Lake and Trail System, and Ski Apache is only a half-hour away. If you’re looking for less-strenuous activities, you can wander among the art galleries and artisan shops of Midtown, visit the Hubbard Museum of the American West, or try your luck at Billy the Kid and Inn of the Mountain Gods casinos—they’re all less than 20 minutes away.
If you’re visiting in winter, snowy mountains are one reason you’re here. Regardless of when you visit and what activities are on your agenda, you’ll find Mar-Cas Cabin your ideal home away from home. Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads.
