LOCATION: High in the Lincoln National Forest, five miles north of Ruidoso, is Alto, where you’ll find beautiful Eagle Ridge. Your neighbors will be wildlife such as deer, elk, and maybe even some wild horses. It’s the perfect location for a family or friends getaway 7,300 feet above sea level. No wonder the unincorporated town is named Alto, which means high in Spanish.
Eagle Ridge is a five-bedroom, four-bathroom air-conditioned home that sleeps up to 10 comfortably. This large home is an upscale elegant jewel designed with creature comforts and relaxation in mind.
Take the stairs from the large driveway down to the secluded deck that leads to Eagle Ridge’s main entrance. This lower space offers an intimate and quiet sitting area perfect for that early morning cup of coffee.
As you enter Eagle Ridge you’ll feel instantly at home in the great room that’s open and airy with lots of windows and beautiful gas fireplace. Comfortable leather couch and large armchairs provide the perfect place to watch the TV with cable and a DVD player. It’s fun to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy a movie as you listen to that fireplace crackling right beside you.
All year, except during the coldest months of winter, you’ll probably spend many pleasant hours on the two-tiered deck dining around the outdoor table, enjoying a cup of coffee, or sipping an evening cocktail as you listen to the sounds of nature. Nothing else quite smells as good as a pine forest. As enjoyable as eating outdoors may be, we are sure you'll enjoy the warmth and relaxation of the soothing hot tub as well.
Of course there is free Wi-Fi within Eagle Ridge. Even though you are in the forest far from the hustle and bustle of home, you’ll be able to share photos and play games on your iPad, phone, or laptop.
Biking, hiking, fishing, and golfing can build up hearty appetites in the crisp, invigorating mountain air. Fortunately, you have a fully equipped kitchen where you can make hearty stew, chili, or whatever your group is craving. You’ll find a full complement of cookware, utensils, and serving ware in your Eagle Ridge kitchen. You also have a gas grill out on the deck where you can sizzle up some steaks or burgers for your hungry group.
The open concept kitchen also includes the dining area with access to the upper deck. If you're in need of more seating space, three additional guests can be seated at the nearby breakfast bar. Of course, you’ll probably want to dine outdoors on the deck where you can enjoy nature while you share stories about your day in the mountains.
Your laundry room can be found right around the corner too. No matter how dirty your party gets during their day of play in the mountains, you can keep everybody in clean clothes without having to drive to a Laundromat. There are no time-wasters like that when you stay at Eagle Ridge.
On the main floor you’ll find the master suite and two guest bedrooms. The master suite is a true retreat from the world with king-sized bed, large screen TV and beautiful en-suite bath with dual vanity, shower and separate whirlpool tub. You also have private access to the deck so you can slip out and view the millions of stars in the mountain sky. It’s hard to imagine the stars you can see when you are high in the mountains far away from city lights. The night sky’s beauty is something you’ll never forget.
The two guest rooms on this level have access to another large full bathroom. Each spacious room has its own queen-sized bed and TV, closet and dressing area.
The remaining two bedrooms are located downstairs, each with a queen-sized bed and theirs own bathroom. Vacations go so much smoother when guests have their own private bathrooms. There’s no hassling for a turn in the shower. Before you know it, you’ll be sitting around the breakfast bar enjoying a cup of coffee.
The Eagle Ridge downstairs also sports a large game room with billiards table and giant TV as well as luxurious couch and chairs. Your guests will love to challenge each other to a tournament or enjoy watching that favorite game on the screen. From this room you can exit through the sliding doors to the deck that holds that relaxing hot tub.
Also convenient is Eagle Ridge’s location. The house is only a fifteen-minute walk—or a 5-minute drive—to Alto Lake and Recreation Area. Another 5 minute drive leads to Ski Run Road and in just 25 minutes you will be at the top of Ski Apache, the southernmost continually operating ski resort in the country. When you’re not fishing, you can explore the surrounding trails on foot, mountain bike, or horseback… and at the end of the Eagle Creek Trail, you’ll find a waterfall. The Links at Sierra Blanca golf course is only a 10-minute drive from the house. Also, less than a half-hour away are the Hubbard Museum of the American West, Ruidoso Downs horse track, Billy the Kid Casino, and the art galleries and artisan shops of Suddath Drive. Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads.

2 night minimum - Summer weekends may require 3 nights
